More than 30 Pa Enua students joined the National Environment Service (NES) for a lively quiz night during the Climate Change Science Expo, hosted by Climate Change Cook Islands. The room was full of enthusiasm as students worked together, shared what they knew and took on each new round.

The quiz built on what students had explored during the expo. At the NES booth, young people learned about the Cook Islands’ Marae Moana, discovered species found across our islands and waters, and learnt about environmental issues such as plastic pollution. Quiz rounds put that learning to the test with questions on waste, biodiversity and science, alongside Cook Islands general knowledge and a few fun surprises.

The night became even more memorable with two special guests. Miss World Oceania Tiare Henry Anguna made an appearance to MC one round, while Miss Earth Cook Islands Matangaro Tarabay led another. Both brought extra excitement for the students and onlookers cheering them on.

Prizes were awarded for first and second place. A big congratulations to Araura College from Aitutaki, who took out first place! Well done to every team for taking part and bringing such great energy to the evening.

Thank you to Climate Change Cook Islands for hosting the expo and giving Pa Enua students the chance to learn, connect and have fun together. The NES Quiz Night was funded by the RESPONSE project.
