NES is excited to welcome three new staff to the team as part of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) 7 project. The GEF7 team include:

– Lydia Sijp – GEF 7 Senior Project Officer
– Fred Nicholas – GEF 7 Project Officer
– Terena Koteka-Wiki – GEF 7 Project Officer

An open and competitive recruitment process was undertaken earlier this month to advertise, interview and select the successful candidates. The group host a variety of backgrounds and experiences, creating a dynamic and complementary team. Their combined background includes science, Government, NGO, private sector and community work.

“We have been developing the GEF 7 project over the last 3 years, with extensive stakeholder consultation and stringent UNDP and GEF processes to meet. We’re delighted to now be launching the GEF 7 project and starting implementation, and with it welcoming the new GEF 7 team to our NES family” said Hayley Weeks, Manager of NES Environmental Partnerships department.

The new GEF 7 positions form part of the Environmental Partnerships Department within NES. They will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the successful delivery of the GEF 7 project, including developing work plans, working with key partners on project implementation in line with approved budgets, monitoring and evaluation of project activities, reporting to UNDP and GEF on project progress, providing secretariat support to the project steering committee, and communicating with project stakeholders and interested parties.
