The National Environment Service is happy to welcome three new staff members – Maria Maoate as the Research and Data Coordinator, Alowesi Suveinakama as the Environmental Compliance Officer, and Mareva Cameron as the Environmental Partnerships Coordinator.
Together, they bring a range of skills, experience and passion to support NES in achieving its objectives and advancing its mission to protect, conserve and manage our environment sustainably.
Tekura Moeka’a, Environmental Policy and Planning Manager led the recruitment process for these positions and stated “notably it is not new that recruitment and retention across the public sector has been an ongoing issue however I am pleased that we received more than 10 applications and interests in total for these positions. The caliber of applicants were of high quality and from all walks of life – school leavers, public and private sector experience, recent graduates and non-Cook Islanders. The number of applications received also indicated a keen interest in Environment work”
Ms. Moeka’a welcomes the new staff to NES and also encourages our people to continue supporting our people to be drivers of change.
